When LYF first visited the Tabay family, their home was in a fragile and unsafe condition. Parts of the structure had weakened over time, and the house lacked the stability needed to provide a secure environment for the family. Everyday life had become increasingly difficult, especially during bad weather, when the condition of the house raised concerns about safety.

Recognizing the urgency of their situation, LYF stepped in to provide housing assistance to help improve their living conditions. The project began by repairing the most damaged parts of the home and reinforcing the structure to make it safer and more stable. Old and weakened supports were replaced with stronger materials, and an additional room was built to give the family more space and comfort.

Alongside the housing renovation, LYF also provided livelihood support to help the family sustain themselves in the long term. Emilia, the mother of the family, received assistance to start a small fruit-selling business at the market. This livelihood opportunity allows her to earn income and contribute to the family’s daily needs.

The combination of a safer home and a growing source of livelihood has brought new hope to the Tabay family. With improved living conditions and the opportunity to support themselves, they are now in a stronger position to move forward with confidence and stability.
The story of the Tabay family is a reminder that meaningful support goes beyond temporary aid. By strengthening both their home and their livelihood, LYF aims to help families build lasting stability and a brighter future.
